Zhak Cohen

Zhak Cohen is a Managing Director at Gallatin Point, where he’s a member of the Investment Committee. He specializes in financial services private equity and special situations. As one of the first members of the investment team at Gallatin, Mr. Cohen has been involved in many of the firm’s investments including Phoenix Financial (TLV: PHOE), Bowhead Specialty (NYSE:BOW), Tower Hill Risk Management, Victor Insurance Exchange, Trusted Resources Underwriting Exchange (TRUE), At-Bay Specialty Insurance Company, Hunt Companies, Sirius Group, Andro and IDB Bank. He is actively involved in numerous public and private boards including Bowhead, Victor, TRUE and Builder Reciprocal Insurance Exchange (BRIE). He is a board observer for Tower Hill and At-Bay and was as previously also a board member at Phoenix. Before Gallatin, Mr. Cohen helped build out the alternative capital strategy at XL Group. He started his career as an M&A Associate at Shearman & Sterling LLP. He earned a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from Brandeis University.
